In addition to the obvious benefits of adding fencing to the boundaries of your property, such as having more privacy and being able to deter more burglars, here are two lesser-known perks that you could notice if you put up this type of barrier around your home's boundaries.
A fence could help you to keep your garden in great condition
Having a fence could make it easier for you to keep your garden in excellent condition. The reason for this is that, firstly, the fence will stop a lot of the weeds that might lie just beyond your garden from growing into it and using up its soil's nutrients (that your planted flowers or your lawn need to be healthy) and generating more weeding for you to do.
Secondly, a fence can prevent most wild animals from wandering into your garden; this means that you won't need to worry about larger animals, such as deer, trampling on the flowerbeds or about smaller ones, such as rabbits, eating the leaves off your plants. Thirdly, the fence will reduce the amount of rubbish from any nearby streets or neighbouring properties that blows into your garden and makes it look messy. In short, having a fence could cut down on how often you need to replace damaged plants as well as how frequently you need to weed and clean the garden.
A fence could block out some of the sources of artificial light that beam onto your property at night
If you're the type of person who wakes up easily when exposed to bright light during the night or if you like to keep your home low-lit and cosy in the evenings, you might be interested to know that another lesser-known perk of putting fencing around your home is that it could block out some sources artificial light sources that beam onto your property at night.
For example, if people park their cars on the street just beyond your home and their headlights often shine directly into your home's ground-floor windows at night, then putting up a fence could block this light from entering this area of your house, even if you have the curtains open. Similarly, if people often take walks or go running on a public pavement or pathway beside your home at night, and use handheld torches so they can see where they're going, a fence around your home could stop the light from these torches from beaming into your house.

Our dogs are lots of fun and very energetic, but they also have a scary bark. It's great to make the house more secure, but I am always worried that they'll scare people just passing by the house, so we have a tall fence to keep the dogs in. It makes people feel better if they can't see the dogs, and it makes me feel better to know that the dogs are safe and secure in our yard. This blog is all about keeping your yard secure so that your dogs will be safe inside and don't make the neighbours feel nervous.
