Glazed panelling can be installed for you around your home and garden by just about any good fencing contractor these days. Glazed panels will often sit very neatly between fence post uprights just like conventional panels so they don't require a great deal more expertise than conventional ones. Others are free-standing and simply get cemented into the ground. Many people are turning to glass panelling for their properties in Australia these days. Why do so many homeowners like the transparency that this material affords?
Vistas on View
Firstly, with a glass balustrade or panel, you get an uninterrupted view out over your garden and the rest of your property. As such, glass balustrades tend to be fitted in places where you want to be able to see clearly, such as a balcony for example. Even if you are inside and looking out of your garden through a window, a conventional fence panel would block your view. This is not the case with glazed panels, of course. Although they prevent balcony falls in much the same way that any other panel or railing would do, they are not visually obtrusive in any way.
Great Architecture
Because glass panels are barely noticeable when they are installed, they offer a very striking architectural feature when you do eventually spot them. Although they are functional, they are not designed to be seen, so you are able to look at your property without interruption or any visual clutter. It is for this reason alone that so many architects will use reinforced glass panels rather than other materials.
Control Air Movement
Glazed balustrades and panels do a remarkably good job of blocking out wind. Therefore, they are often used on terraces and patios where you need some form of windbreak that does not create a visual barrier. They are particularly good when fitted close to an al fresco dining area, for example, because they allow you to eat without the wind becoming too strong. Many restaurants now have them in their outdoor seating areas and homeowners have simply copied the idea.
Dial Down the Heat
Another key point of having glass panels fitted around your home is that they do not need to be completely transparent. You can still see through lightly tinted ones, after all. If you opt for this type of glass panelling for a balustrade, for instance, then you can also cut out some of the power of the sun which means that you remain cooler when outside on your terrace or balcony.

Our dogs are lots of fun and very energetic, but they also have a scary bark. It's great to make the house more secure, but I am always worried that they'll scare people just passing by the house, so we have a tall fence to keep the dogs in. It makes people feel better if they can't see the dogs, and it makes me feel better to know that the dogs are safe and secure in our yard. This blog is all about keeping your yard secure so that your dogs will be safe inside and don't make the neighbours feel nervous.
