3 Reasons to Install Welded Mesh Fencing on Your Farm

Blog

Your farm's fences may have done a good job for years, but if they're getting old, then they may need replacing. Rather than just putting down any old fence, this is a good time to evaluate materials to make sure you choose the right product for your farm.

Welded mesh fences are often used on farms. What are the benefits of welded mesh fencing?

1. Livestock Protection

Welded mesh fences are strong and resilient. They keep things in, and they keep things out. This makes them a good option when you need to fence off fields or areas for livestock.

So, for example, if you keep cattle, then you know that you need a fence that can withstand the attention of the average cow or bull. Cattle are big animals with a lot of weight behind them. They can damage some fences quite easily simply by running at them, or over time, they may push fencing out of position if they lean against it often enough.

If you keep smaller animals like chickens, then you won't just worry about keeping them corralled in the right place; predators are also an issue. Foxes, dogs and even snakes may target your coop for its eggs or your chucks.

If you install the right grade of welded mesh fencing, then you manage these problems more effectively. These fences cope with damage from large animals and protect small ones by keeping predators out.

2. Visibility

While welded mesh fencing is a solid solution, it has visibility benefits that some other fences don't have. You can see through this kind of fence so you can keep a better eye on your livestock. If an animal is on the ground because it is ill or injured, then it is easy to spot through the fence even from a distance. If a dog is harassing your sheep, then you can see what is happening and deal with it immediately.

3. Weather Benefits

Your farm's fences are affected by the weather. Some fences rot or rust after a few years of being exposed to rainy seasons; others warp after a few hot summers.

Welded mesh fencing handles inclement weather conditions well. It is usually made from treated steel that shrugs off rain and heat. It is also more likely to stay standing in heavy winds. The holes in the mesh allow the wind to pass through a fence rather than pushing it over.

So, add welded mesh fencing to your list of possible solutions. Your fence contractor can tell you more about its benefits.

Fencing off the yard

Our dogs are lots of fun and very energetic, but they also have a scary bark. It's great to make the house more secure, but I am always worried that they'll scare people just passing by the house, so we have a tall fence to keep the dogs in. It makes people feel better if they can't see the dogs, and it makes me feel better to know that the dogs are safe and secure in our yard. This blog is all about keeping your yard secure so that your dogs will be safe inside and don't make the neighbours feel nervous.
