When you start looking at fencing options for your home, you may want something besides traditional timber options. You may be having some troubles with this task since most of the non-timber options may be listed as industrial. If you are having issues figuring out a non-timber fencing option without the industrial look and feel, consider the following customised fencing options that are timber-free.
Concrete Fencing
You may think concrete fencing automatically means industrial. The truth is there are several fencing contractors that use cement as their key material and can customise the look to be anything other than industrial. Some of the options you may want to consider with a customised concrete fence are a slate rock finish, faux brick finish or a material mixture of concrete and wrought iron. You can even have the fencing contractor work with varying heights to give a unique effect and more customised option for your needs.
Stone Fencing
Most areas have a stone that is indigenous to the area. Using this natural resource can give you the unique non-timber fencing option you've been looking for. Most fencing contractors will have access to various stone styles that may be appealing to you and that will work with your landscaping ideas. This option gives you something that you can customise, mix and match, and it's a sustainable option that won't require special fabrication or artificial, factory-made material. If you are in the green living movement, this may be the ideal customised fencing option.
Iron Fencing
Wrought iron fencing can be elegant, timeless and give you an option for customised ornamental features for your landscape. You can also choose to find antique ornamental iron fencing and incorporate it into your fencing design by working with your fencing contractors. This type of timber-free fencing will need upkeep and you will need to ensure it is waterproofed and sealed properly. Though it does require more maintenance than other options, with the right upkeep it will maintain its look and give you that special touch your landscape needs.
Consider a consultation with fencing contractors to come up with more ideas that are specific to your landscape or your home setting. They can also offer price estimates on the options you have in mind. If you have specific needs, your fencing contractor can also perform a small land survey to determine if other fencing options may be ideal rather than a concrete, stone or iron fencing.

Our dogs are lots of fun and very energetic, but they also have a scary bark. It's great to make the house more secure, but I am always worried that they'll scare people just passing by the house, so we have a tall fence to keep the dogs in. It makes people feel better if they can't see the dogs, and it makes me feel better to know that the dogs are safe and secure in our yard. This blog is all about keeping your yard secure so that your dogs will be safe inside and don't make the neighbours feel nervous.
